This is the BLS Occupational Outlook hand book and this is what it's all about:

Occupational Outlook Handbook (OOH), 2010-11 Edition

For hundreds of different types of jobs—such as teacher, lawyer, and nurse—the Occupational Outlook Handbook tells you:

the training and education needed

earnings

expected job prospects

what workers do on the job

working conditions

It can be found here: http://www.bls.gov/oco/

Perhaps we can look at some of the most needed jobs in America now and projected jobs. We can share this with our higher-ed students who are potentially undecided on majors. We can tell them what is in demand and what those jobs require. It may be a good way to get the ball rolling and generate a discussion.

Maybe a Holland test would be a good one to do too.
