Inverventions step by step:
1. While students are enjoying their brunch, we begin with introductions/ icebreakers. We also explain the purporse of the work shop. At the conclusion of the workshop counselors will invite students to schedule a follow up one on one meeting with one of the career counselors the worked with doing the workshop. The goal is to help student choose a major that congruent with their personality.
2. Students listen to a presentation about the The Meyers Briggs typology test and Personality Career development theory. PP presentation 5-10 minutes
3. Student take the online assessment 10 mins Myers Briggs Typology test
4. Students will assign themselve to a group or pair of students that they have a similar score.
5. Students will discuss in thier groups/ pairs any congruency or discrepencies between thier Personality type and the top 3 careers they are considering.
6. The counselor concludes this portion of the workshop with a class discussion.
Group if we all create a section based upon our lit review and independently create seperate presentations we can use those presentations as builidng blocks. The goal is 2 parts give the students tools (ex. oohb bls, holland test, super, values, etc, list of jobs that are in demand) knowledge or theories, resources, to explore thier career path. The last part is to hypothetically schedule students for a one and one discussion with a career counselor to help the students through the indecision process.
